Jan Edwards is a songwriter and painter in Naples Florida. She made her mark on the creative scene in her native Minneapolis, Minnesota, and her part time presence in Nashville, Tennessee. Her career in advertising led her all over the country. She has taken many side roads in her explorations including fashion illustration, illustration, painting, jewelry, hand-painted clothing and sculpture. In 2018 she dove in headfirst painting in her favored mediums of acrylic and watercolor. Her subject matter varies from animals, dogs, figurative, birds, landscapes and abstracts. “The creative process is the same with painting as it is songwriting.” Edwards says. “I’m intent on having the two worlds merge and blurring the lines as I explore the journey down the rabbit hole…”

Jan has always been an experience maker and expressed her creative spirit through her paintings, songwriting and music performance. “But once I started going down to Nashville to co-write with other songwriters and artists, and attending workshops and other industry events, I realized that I was a songwriter at heart.” Her songs started getting attention and won 1st place in the country category for the USA Songwriting Competition. That recognition provided an invitation to play a showcase at the renowned Bluebird Café, and play at other Nashville iconic venues. Years later, her song “I Will,” co-written with Randy Morrison and Matt Rogers, was recorded and released by Texas superstar Darrin Morris. The single went #1 on the Texas charts where it remained for 3 weeks.

Edwards spends time collaborating and connecting with her world-wide community of songwriters, lyricists, musicians and artists with workshops, mentorships, and webinars. Watch for songwriting workshops hosted by Jan at her studio, MUSEBOX ARTS.
